It is with some regret that I feel unable to take part in the East Coast walk in January.

Please accept my apologies.

As mentioned, a start from the public car park at Heybridge looks good and would last about 2 hours to Goldhanger. I am given to understand that the pub in Goldhanger would be most welcoming but would like some idea of numbers.

Wishing you all the very best for Xmas and the new year.

Regards,

Is that a with or without pushchairs walk?

Ie is it a nice path, or are we talking sturdy shoes, head to toe waterproofs and those walking sticks that go click every time they touch the ground with an os map hanging out of your pocket and a compass around your neck?

Does the pub let dogs in? (especially dogs that has had a 2 hour walk next to a very muddy river bank)

12th Jan at 10 a.m.?

Has anyone got a map of the area showing footpaths etc.?

Is it possible to get from Haybridge Basin to Goldhanger with out walking along the B1026?

Has anyone checked with the pub if that can accommodate us and if so how many people?

Now looked at the map. Doesn't tell you how deep the puddles will be but there is a footpath most of the way - a few hundred yards on the road.

Presumably we meet in the car park near the canal.

No knowledge of the pub in Goldhanger.

That will be Phil Glovers place. He came and ran the Anchor at Canewdon for 3 months between Landlords. Brilliant bloke, great food, unbelievable quantities of bar snacks.

Unfortunately Reading couldnt Tottenham beat in the FA Cup last weekend.

This means the planned match against the best team in the land /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (no Neil not the Gooners /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) originally scheduled for Monday 14th has been rescheduled for 12th, so i have another offer which i find more tempting.

Also have you seen the weather forecast for the weekend.
wellies a must me thinks....

And I thought that you'd volunteer to be the St Bernard with a barrel of something reviving /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway 26 knots and wet is more raggies weather than mobos /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
