Just back from Brightlingsea Waterside, HW at Brightlingsea is approx 11.33, the water level at 08.00 was sitting at the level one usually expects for a Neap HW. It is going to be a VERY BIG tide!

Hope the piles on HMs pontoons are tall enough to stop the pontoons floating off the top. My boat is still afloat!

Just spoken with Ian at the HM office, they are expecting just over 6m on current information, and the piles are designed to take up to 7m. Like you, we are still in on the White Pontoons.

Here in Leigh-on-Sea, I couldn't believe it when I opened the curtains at 6.30 and the tide was already in. Boats were floating at 7 when they would normally lift at around 9.30. Apparently the tide didn't go out enough to uncover the mud all night - first time I've seen that in the last 4 years.

The Southend gauge wasn't working, but Gravesend was registering 2.97m above prediction! If that carried on, it would have been lapping at the front door at HW.

Floodline were no help at all, but I contacted London VTS who are expecting 1.2m above prediction. Keels might get a little damp and dinghy might have a float around (they're on the hard) but house will be fine.
