There are two proposals :

April 11th/12th at Brightlingsea where CYC or Kovalam and the Yachtsman would oblige I am sure. The tides seem good

April 18/19th here at Shotley where we could join in with this merriment :
http://www.ybw.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/2190445/an/0/page/0#2190445
.... and officially open our own season (there is an evening band/disco)

Answers please ..............

Just looked and we didn't do this until 5th May last year.... or 1st week of May the year before....

Do we have to do it in April, as i've got it booked out solidly to get everything out of the way before the season starts....

(Although we can do the 18th/19th at Shotley ironically!)

Shotley or later - be nice to get as many as poss there by boat (said he having driven to both of last years suppers /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif - well I couldn't sail to Bradwell could I /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

I am for Shotley.
1. It is a bit further North than we have had before (although excellent Laying Down Supper was at Shotley last year.
2. May is already chocker.
3. No other reason.

We're already booked up the Easter weekend. Will be at Shotley on 18/19th though. One thing that's puzzling me - assuming that most of Shotley marina's boats will be in the water by then, where are all the visiting boats going to moor that weekend?

The Belgian chapter of East Coast forum wiil be in Shotley 18th/19th courstesy of Stena line. 2 of us in large car, order book open for cases of Duvel, ciggies from Luxembourg, whatever...

Have spoken to the Shipwreck at Shotley. The restaurant is officially closed on the 18th, as the faclities are being handed over to the Fire Brigade who are to run a BBQ as a fundraiser for the RNLI. HOWEVER ......... if we give numbers and a time, then they will happily arrange tables etc for us to sit down together for an evening meal.

May is looking bonkers even now, so unless there are any major objections, its looking very much like Shotley on the 18th ............. will confirm mid-week unless there are any major objections.

Due to having hurt my back a few weeks ago (and various other problems) I have not done a thing on my boat all year. When I do eventually get there, progress is likely to be slow due to dodgy back. So I am unable to make any sailing plans right now. Can't even promise to be able to drive there!

Osteopath has recommended gentle rocking movements.

So standing in a bar swaying from side to side, or sailing in a force three would be ideal.

Could be persuaded to go to Shotley and show off the Sea Feather!

Was thinking of going to Swale that weekend but that can wait I guess. Having never been to Shotley (by water) I now have this visit and another meet on 16 May. Hope visitors berths are reasonably priced! There is a credit crunch on!

What time is HW Walton / Harwich on Sat 18 April?

Sounds like your having a nightmare start to this year. Any assistance needed just ask.

Still have those Lazy Jacks for you let me know when you want them.

As for Fitted up supper heading to Cyprus end of the month not back until 5th May then looks like manic calender of events

Just checked Shotley's marina fees - an overnight stay for our 27 foot Cat would cost £30 inc electricity!
