Well it looks like some sort of pier existed to the right in the background, and the silting centre and left looks like part of it. Sort of looks north bank of the Blackwater, but I couldn't say why.

I beleve that it was a peir for a ferry over to Bradwell that a rail line was linked to.

It was talked about in a post the other day.

The first time I knew the answer to one of these where is it's, & was too late replying! M Griffiths mentioned the line several times in his books, & I've had a look to find traces & concluded it was as shown.

Dang! You can't turn your back for a minute round here.

I knew I should have kept my powder dry.

So close, so close. Dang.

I knew that ! But I'm too slow for this forum.
How about Port Victoria, mentioned in another East Coast classic.
How many others know where that was ?

"And here comes the British contestant. He didn't win but that's not important, its all about the performance. The way he crossed the line after all the others was in a class of its own. Nobody else did it quite like that and he can be proud of his personal best"

Sorry naughty of me but I'm trying to avoid writing a late paper.

What about Nortonmotors' 'Port Victoria'. Where wuz that?

Ah no, Norton's talking about a real place - which you will have sailed past - not that its called that any more. Not that its called anything any more. Not that you could anchor cos of the other things there.......

Ooh Please Sir, I know.
Often mentioned in Francis B Cooke's writings and was once the home of the Corinthian Yacht Club, [before it was Royal] I think.
It had it's own railway station.
