Having completely sorted out the horro story which was the shore mains 220v side of the boat wiring, it occurs as to whether the earth is bonded to the neutral side of the 12 volt side of things, and if so if there is any galvanic effect?

The low voltage DC system should be bonded to the shorepower earth. The connection being made as close as possible to the battery negative( assuming a negative earth system.)

ISO 13297 does allow the systems to not be so bonded provided the shorepower system incorporates a whole vessel RCD. Although not to do so will fly in the face of all expert advice.

If the DC negative and the shorepower earth are bonded it is pretty well essential to incorporate a galvanic isolator in the shorepower earth connection unless you do not leave the shorepower plugged in for long periods
