This next week is the last one before - in theory - before those of us who cruise can venture forth and go boating.
Looking at the specifications for the works I'm nonplussed at how much time it is taking to replace a few bits of wood - or so it would appear to my untutored eye...

Is anyone bothered? Does anyone care - after all many boats don't venture out of there marinas and the weather of late has not been conducive for a long cruise.

Any support, or am I a voice crying in the wilderness?

I notice the hydraulic upgrades did not happen. That's fair enough as everything does basically work albeit with occasional breakdowns.

I would like it if the River is open at the end of March as have some craft rearranging to do . This includes one vessel which needs to leave due to the fact I have been erroneously identified as an oligarch.

Fortunately I have another fabulous craft which can stay on the River as it has not been logged by our government so will still be able go enjoy the delights on this incredibly wonderful waterway. And at £2 a day for the yearly registration it is bargain of the century.

Lovely and sunny today but still a lot of water moving.

It's been a very tame winter. River has not broken the banks once. Good if it stays like that.

Well I'm afraid you will need to - wait that is! Current info is not encouraging. Next TNUF meeting is mid April at which we may learn more.
Oh dear, that has surprised me. Still, i feel confident the pumpouts will be up and running and a new card system installed. Very much looking forward to that.

Being moored in Penton Hook Marina, I shall be heading upstream just as soon as it opens, and with Cookham open, and with a bit of luck, Goring passable, I shall be telling my better-half to expect me back home in two to three weeks.

That is if I don’t end up in Chatham in the mean time ?

Lovely day here in sunny Sussex - and I see that EA have issued a NEW and UPDATED version of the lock clusures notice in the style of presentation that they used to have with well presented layout and a glorious map of the locks - for those who have forgotten what locks are where.
This latter is in contrast to the text version which still doen't seem to know which locks are where (it's not inlock order...).

Looking at the number of responses to any thread on this forum are regularly poor to abysmal, I suspect that most folks couldn't give a (insert any expleteive here), one wonders of anyone (regulars excpted) gives a (insert appropriate expletive) cares.
