Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
Henley River Pageant
Masters of boats are advised that:
•
Heavier than normal traffic can be expected on the Henley reach of the non-tidal Thames and passing through Hambleden and Marsh Locks on their way to and returning from The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Henley River Pageant to be held on the afternoon of 2 June 2012.
•
The Council moorings on both Mill and Marsh Meadows upstream of Henley Bridge will be closed to vessels other than Pageant participants from 10.00 on 2 June 2012.
•
The procession will take place commencing at 11.00, proceeding upstream from a point below Temple Island following normal navigation on the Bucks bank turning above Rod Eyot and then proceeding downstream down the Regatta course. They will then turn below Temple Island and take the Bucks bank and take up moorings at Mill and Marsh Meadows at about 15.00.
•
Rowers are requested, for the safety and convenience of all, to time their training runs outside of these times on 2 June.
•
Many participant craft will be small and unpowered, Masters of other vessels are requested to navigate with caution and particular consideration and at such a speed as to cause NO wash.
