EA Moorings

Hi, Long term, I put my name on a waiting list probably 2 years ago and someone from Hurley Lock phoned up today and asked if I was still interested. I was taken a bit off guard and didn't ask any questions.

Presumably you put your name down for a mooring at Hurley ? there is a long waiting list for Agency moorings.

I'm guessing it would have been the lock keeper that called you , as there is no nav office at Hurley.

Give them a buzz back tomorrow , i'm sure they'll remember .

Do you have any idea of costs? Boat is about 15 foot long, I think I applied for any mooring anywhere on the upper Thames. At the moment I keep it at home and launch when needed. Be nice to keep it afloat but depends on costs.

I don't i'm afraid , we don't have long term moorings at Teddington .

I'm sure they'll be able to fill you in in the morning. :)

I enquired last year and got a form with the gradings and rates attached for all sites.
I don't think it's on Visittames - the search engine is "not good" (Reading is aware - something to do with the package),

It may be on the EA site but you'd have to find what the search logic is to find it.

FWIW they are at or very near commercial rates. I asked about Shepperton (rotten access, but water and 'leccy). It worked out at only slightly less that a marina...

The (old) Hurley moorings appeared to me to be de facto seasonal moorings as they are in the downstream weir stream, and when the House weir is running there's a fair flow. That may not be so important as the infrastructure is so much better. Before I get attacked by residents; all IMHO.
