EA decide to rent out lock houses

The Whitcurch lock should prove interesting as the access is either over the weir walkway or a permited path through the grounds of Whitchurch mill for ea use only...also no obvious car parking space?? have they overturned the EA only use of the path??Maybe somone minted with a helicopter then.........

Sorry teddington lock if my post left you a bit confused.

My feelings are that you can dispence with the E A river management and the
river will be maintained expertly by the lock staff.

Get rid of the lock staff and mayhem will ensue.

Make no mistake the renting of Lockhouses is the tip of the iceberg.

So who exactly is going to sort the wages, pay the pensions, send out the payment forms for river dues ,organise the cutting back of the trees, get quotes on rebuilding the locks, managing some sort of plan for the future.
Presume the lock staff will be banging on peoples doors at 11pm collecting overdue monies
....or will it all be done by magic ? :)

Probably a call centre in Delhi....the only one sthat list which they could not do is the subsequent cutting of said trees and rebuilding of locks.

If the man's handle is going to be Spoonerised, then perhaps it should be

"Gerbil Todger" ????

Perhaps a bit more apposite in the circumstances.....

I am a little confused here... The ATYC website shows the position of Deputy Chair as vacant, and I cannot find any news regarding the appointment of a Deputy Chair.

Well you're not the only one that's confused. He was the Deputy Chair but at last nights ATYC meeting it was announced that he has resigned from that position and may stand as Treasurer when the present incumbent retires at the next AGM.
As the Deputy Chair is the current ATYC representative on the WWG this raises questions as to who will now take this role. At a time when this representation would seem particularly important, why has he chosen to resign now rather than stay in post and stand down at the next AGM?

In some quarters it was seen that holding the post of the DC at ATYC and C of DBA there might well have been a conflict of interest but who are we to say.
