no point, most the carps been pulled out in that area and eaten. will just start fishing early myself.most the laws are being ignored by many foreign visitors, why should I stick to them.to be fair there are bigger laws broken by some passing them by on the water.

Very easy to report , 0800 80 70 60 , if you mention to the operator that there is an 'offence in progress' , it will be much more likely that the bailiff can get them. , as they love catching people in the act. Too many times they get there and they have gone or the report is days old.

I wouldn't start fishing early yourself , Sod's law says it will be you that gets caught and not the habitual offender.

I imagine you are a caring considerate fisherman , so understand the reason for the close season , to let the fish breed. Just because one idiot breaks the bylaw , doesn't mean that everyone has to. It's not a law for the fun of it , but to sustain the fish stocks.

Fisheries enforce this , not waterways by the way.

Bailiffs can't be expected to patrol every length of bank on the river , they rely on public spirited people like yourself to let them know where it is going on. :)

I know spot on you are, i wont be fishing till the 16th, if there are any left

Bumper as Teddington say`s they can only respond if we let them know fella ,it can help point out hotspots and then the thinly stretched baliffs are more likely to turn up.
It is very frustrating to see it happen I know only to well but please don`t get tempted to follow there lead ,out of interest what nationality were they???.
Worth checking out the Thames Anglers Conservancy forum met a few fishing buddy`s through this and although most are fishing the lower there are a few on the middle bits Steve

I wish they'd leave the fish alone and develop a taste for Coots.

Or G**se ?.:)
You do see the odd fisherman on the Medway out of season, but remarkably few. Wether ignorance or deliberate ignoring rules ,not sure.
On our trip over the weekend only spotted one breaking close season and he was with his mum and out picnicking.

Going by this quote on the Angling site, the Police are very aware of the nationalities involved.:D

"last year the Angling Trust uploaded the 'Elementary Guide to Angling Law & Fisheries Enforcement' to the Police Online Knowledge Area (POLKA) - making this simple guide available to every police officer in England."
