as you have to trigger the host to send your messages. If you have SSB you can get email via SAILMAIL.COM in the US. if you have ham radio there are lots of sites. you will need a modem which isn't cheap.
There are complications....if you have a full ham licence my understanding is, yes you can send and receive emails, but only to and from other fully licenced hams - or does somebody know differently?
