e-mails via GPS

I read on the "Crusing Log" that GPS will soon have the ability to recive e-mails and weather forcasts. Anybody know any more about this....would be handy Dave

This is almost certainly a reference to GPRS, an extension of the GSM mobile phone services available in the UK and many other places in the world. It's being implemented now and will offer data services which will almost certainly be used for e-mail and weather forecasting etc. This has absolutely nothing to do with GPS.
