I'm desperately looking for a dynastart for my ageing Albin 011. in my Blackwater Sloop 2 1/2 tonner . I'm used to hand cranking it, but as both the engine and I are getting older together, we've decided that an electric starter would save us both a lot of bother. If anyone has one, or knows of one that might be for sale, I'd be very grateful to hear about it.

I have two MD1Bsw with MS gearboxes. One with an oil leak and the other apparently in good working order. Both have dynastarters and voltrage regulators I am trying to sell the lot either individually or together if you are interested.

I had this trouble a while ago. I bought a brand new Dynastart from LSUK of 40 Roseville Rd, Leeds, LS8 5DR - 0113 245 8591 and it cost me a couple of hundred quid. It worked very well until I sold the engine earlier this year.
The original Bosch versions were a fortune to replace - this one seemed to be a copy but it worked well.
good luck
Martin

Many thanks for your help. I've heard from Fors Marin who are the Swedish suppliers of new parts, but as my engine is a fairly old affair, it doesn't seem to justify the cost of a new dynastart. I'd be interested in the one you mentioned. My e-mail is: nrorke@hotmail.com
Many thanks for the help.

Thanks for youy reply. I'm not familiar with the MD1Bsw or MS g/boxes you mention. Are they Albin parts? Is the dynastart of a universal type? I've had a quote from Fors Marin, the Swedish supplier of new parts for Albin, but the cost for a new dynastart is over £400. Although probably quite reasonable, this is more than I'd want to spend on what is after all a pretty old engine.
If you would contact me directly about what you have, my e-mail is: nrorke@hotmail.com
Many thanks for your interest and help,
NickR.

Many thanks for your interest and help. My Albin is the smallest in their range, a single cylinder 5hp. known as an 011. There is a larger version which is basically two cylinders together. Unsurprisingly this one is 10 hp. and known as an 021. I believe that the dynastart is identical on both, as is the g/box and many other non-cylinder based parts.
I'm certainly interested, and would be grateful to hear more from you. My e-mail is: nrorke@hotmail.com.
Many thanks, NickR.
