The boat I have has a dark navy sparayhood and matching UV strip to the genoa.
The stack pack bag which is made of canvas is a lighter blue colour and I was contemplating dyeing it dark navy to match the aforementioned. Can this be done? Is it a DIY job or a job for a professional. Any idea who could do this work and likely cost. Thanks forumites.

I have done all canvas work with dark blue Renovo and was happy with results. Never went near sail with it though as it does leach through. It is messy as it 'runs' when applied, so best to remove. Best prices were on Amazon, cost me about £100 to apply two coats to everything, inc both sides of dodgers. It stiffens up the fabric like starch.

Painting canvas

I have an annexe which fitted my old caravan and was made from grey canvas with white and green stripes. Our new van has a maroon awning so we wanted the annexe to match. I taped up the green stripes with masking tape and painted maroon over the green with Dulux Weathershield. Others have used this paint to paint whole canvas surfaces and the general opinion is that the paint stays flexible and outlasts the canvas even in the harsh Aussie sun.
You should be able to get the colour mixed to match.
