Dutch visitors

Just noticed a line of Dutch (and some German) yachts passing Harwich and heading up Orwell. Are we being invaded?

Verschuppen race finishers, bit of a slog overnight with little wind. North Sea Race back tomorrow AM.

They all come and party at RHYC and race back on Friday morning, some of them with almighty hangovers!
They are immediately followed by a large contingent from the Royal Maas YC.
We used to refer to the whole 3 days as the “Dutch Invasion”.

A video from the start on Wednesday morning. The start was delayed from Tuesday evening due to forecast high winds.

I was the club “gunner” for a few years and started a fair number of North Sea Races.

Watching the North Sea Race competitors heading for the start on AIS. Over 70 entrants. I bet that was a spectacle in reality.
How did the party go?, In my experience the Dutch know how to party!
