Dusseldorf ‘23 - Anyone going ?

I have found a quicker way to upload images from my phone (iPhone 13).

I email the images to myself and then when viewing the email on my phone, they have automatically been resized down to a sensible size each (approx 100-150kb each).

I then open the email, click on the first image and in the “save” options that are shown below, click “save all”.

They are then now at the smaller size back in my photos folder on my phone as the most recent additions.

Then it’s a simple “attach” clicking all those i wish to add within a post and once all have loaded, finally click the “full image” option so they do not appear as thumbnail images.

And hey presto, Bob’s your uncles.

I wonder if you meant the S72 rather than S65?

If so it’s hull number 1 and due for some re-working. I think they’ve had specific issues with drawer catches. There are always changes made within the first couple of boats.

It’s too late now but if you are a genuine boat owner go to the invited guests / owner entrance and if based in the UK Princess Sales / Argo yachting have a large staff presence from the UK and should be able to show you relevant boats to ensure you get the most out of your visit.

Every manufacturer here requires registration at Düsseldorf or Cannes.

Re the drawers, it might well have been.

In fairness the Sunseeker Pred 55 was clearly boat No. 1 and I would not have wanted it that's for sure such is my OCD. But it is and will be stunning when production commences in earnest and the bugs get ironed out.

Re the Princess stand, I should have done what you have suggested. I know both Ken Knight (Swanick UK Sales) and Nikos Koutsopoulos (American marine - Greece), from last year when I was viewing V62's before I then bought my Predator 60. It would have been an easy in to the stand. I must have been too tired by then (last stand before heading to the airport and then home), to not think about it as it's exactly what I used for every other stand. Mind you the lad who eventually let me on said he worked for Messe owners and was nothing to do with boats of any kind so maybe if Princess had more appropriate front of house, they might have thought to ask me. Not to worry, we got on.

Incidentally, I added this pic in as it was very impressive indeed. It's a 3D printed boat, manufactured in only 30hrs in Holland and felt "tough as old boots".

Also enjoyed the show. Princess stand was good and enjoyed the G&T hour from 5pm :). Princess hospitality was excellent, couldnt fault it at all! Spent time looking at other boats as well. I can see the appeal of the Superhawk 55, but isnt for me and while it was on my list I am glad I have gone for the v55. Do like the Bluegame boats as well, but nothing quite fitted my requirements from them. Drank far too much while at the show on the Tuesday :) .

Wednesday spent a bit more time round the other halls. They have a submarine (nemo 2) for sale in one of the other halls (€545k). Also the "mo jet" was interesting.

Chances are we passed each other on numerous occasions there. Although i was fortunate enough, or maybe unfortunate enough for that matter, to be taken into Dusseldorf on Tuesday night where two of my suppliers forced huge amounts of alcohol down my neck until i could barely walk. Weds morning was hard going until i’d found to right amount of caffeine to kick start my motors once again.

Who’d have though bars open until 2am on a Tuesday !

Re: a tender for the back of our new boat. Disaster !!!!!

When ordering on-line there’s often no sense of scale. What we thought were inches were in fact feet ?

On the plus side we’re staying in the Japanese part of town. ?

A few thoughts as I wait to board the plane. The Ferretti 580 flybridge has come on leaps and bounds from the old mid 50 foot model. I can see where cost savings have been made in terms of square boxes that than curves but it would have been an “on the list” boat in 2021 when we ordered the Prin F55. The saloon felt a bit smaller - very cosy though, bathrooms were tight particularly the showers and the lower helm looked forward through a small letter box.

But it felt well put together compared to other boats on show.

The Pearl 72 was also an interesting boat with a slightly unexpected layout inside. I’d be interested to do real world price comparisons to see what you get for your money in terms of real estate.

Toured the mid 60 foot Fairline Phantom and Squadron. I was initially confused between the 2 models thinking Phantom below Squadron in the pecking order. Actually not the case. Phantom is going head to head with the Princess S class and Squadron the more traditional flybridge. It will be really interesting to see the new Fairline mid 50 footer at Southampton. It could be a Manhattan 55 model for the brand. Not sure about all the fold down flappy bits but if internal volume is increased to compete with Princess and Sunseeker expect big sales from patient marque enthusiasts
