Haha. I have just done the most stupid thing. Tied my camera to a halyard and hoisted it, I thought the weight would pull it back down again, but... nope. It's stuck up the mast. hahaha.

Oh dear, I do make myself laugh.

Ok.

Out of breath. Now I trust the block a the top, I figured out how to climb the mast. It wasn't pretty, but it did the job. Got my camera back. phew! Unfortunately, the battery is now the property of Davy Jones, so there won't be any more youtube videos for while. D'oh, and I only did it so you lot could have some more interesting shots to look at. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yours dumbly, Nathan

Well, on the bright side, it does still run off mains power, so I'll be able to pull part 8 off the tape, but alas, there shall be nein nine. On the extra bright side, it does mean I'll have more time to write on the blog.

Agreed.

Haha. Oh man. You would have been able to see it on the webcam at the marina!!! Gutted.

I really enjoyed your video diarys so you had better get another battery asap If i had known you were in brightlingsea i would have bought you a beer, next time round maybe!

Let us know what type of battery it is, somebody might just have a spare.

So many cockups between us, girlfriend just asked me if we are related! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

haha.

It's from a Sony HC53, and is an H series battery.

I'm making vague effort to attract the attention of a sponsor as a backup plan. I figured a banner on all my future videos would be a fair swap for a few hundred quid's worth of decent camera. I've certainly got a good demographic for them to be exposed to.

If that comes along, then great, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll look for a battery, but I'm not going to have one before I leave here, so it may be a while before I can film again.

To be honest, I'm not that upset, because it was damned hard work to keep up to date with the edits and uploads, not to mention the effort required to actually get the camera out and film when you really don't feel like it. People enjoy them though, so it seems selfish to give up.

Watch this space I guess.
