Hi,
What’s the consensus on painting or not painting stainless steel DuoProps?
I have polished the props and look great, I keep the outdrives up in beach position as the boat drys out in its berth 3 hours either side of the tide so very little weed growth issue and can clean them easily from the pontoon.
Prefer not the paint, is there any reason I should?

I got a new set of dpg stainless props last year and volvo must have coated them with a clear coat as this winter it only took about 15min per prop to clean.
I have emailed volvo but yet to receive any response back - would be helpful though as it was easy to clean and still looked good.

I've never needed to coat my SS duoprops with anything. They seem to self clean. What I have had to do is add extra anodes to the top if the anti cavitation plate. SS props chew through the shaft anode. At least mine do

I'm on fresh water, so all I ever get is a tiny bit of slime on mine.

I wouldn't coat polished SS with anything. If you want to keep them pristine, jump in the water and scrub them every so often.

I get 2 seasons out of my fresh-water anodes. (only on shore power when out of the water in the winter).

Only cleaning they get is brick cleaner once annually, to get rid of any crud.... used to be paranoid using this but many members on here use it and after 8 years of using it on polished SS, they come up new every year. (ensuring to wash off after)
