Dunure Harbour - Ayrshire

Hi All

I can't seem to find any info on the harbour at Dunure.

Has anyone been there?
Is it worth a visit or considering as a bolthole?

There is plenty of info on Maidens harbour a little further down the coast but nothing on Dunure.

It's covered in CCC Clyde Sailing Directions.
Pleasant, but it's tiny and dries completely, I don't think it could be regarded as a bolthole.

Drying isn't a a problem for me so might be worth a visit if I'm passing.
There aren't many stopping places along that coast.

The Dunure Inn gets a good name for its food.

I caution against trying for Dunure on speculation as the basin is full with permanent berths which are fore-and-aft. The only space normally available is on the inside of the sea-wall.
Dunure is run by a local Harbour Committee Association and as of a couple of weeks ago all berths were taken.
Entry is tricky, especially in a S'Wly. There are lead posts at the side of the slipway.
