Just read about his latest Indian travels, there is a picture of him sporting a load of medals
on his uniform.

Could anybody from the services tell me how he earnt them?

D

The one fourth from left is the new Diamond Jubilee jobber... not authorised to be worn until June I believe... certainly not on the uniforms of serving personnel anyway. Maybe he's got a note from his mum saying he can.

Where's his brother - old Charlie - these days.

Has someone locked him away in the tower, or is he so busy in his garden chatting to the flowers that he hasn't got time for any " official duties " ?

I haven't seen him around since the Christmas service on the estate.

He has slowed down a lot what with all the medals he has got to wear.
He must have been a very brave soldier eh.

Same way most people get them - doing his job. Like the awards of peerages, knighthoods etc, some medals have drifted down from conspicuous acts "beyond the call" to just being there.

And it is "earned" not "earnt".

Could the Moderator please move this to the lounge and leave this forum to discuss boaty topics.

You may have a point, but I shudder to think the moderator reads every post, so you may find your request may not have even reached the deaf ears.

I think there is a "report" function.

If the moderator does read every post they have my sympathy.

I may not like him but I respect his bravery acting as missile decoy. I feel pity for most of the members of that particular soap opera family. Harry's OK though......

I've always rather doubted that story; it would be somewhat of a career limiting move to be ' the Captain who sent P A to do such a thing to save his ship and the poor brave bloke copped it' !

Seeing his recent behaviour I wouldn't **** on him if he was on fire; but maybe if he wasn't...:)

--- Do agree this is a lounge subject though.
