Hi all
I am interested in buying a dufour 38, late 90's model but the boat has hit a rock and had to have keel removed & refitted plus reinforcement in that area.
The boat had a 7000 euro repair in a french yard &
I was wondering if anyone could inform me of how this would likely affect getting insurance on the vessel.

Agree about Sunsail yachts, most of them have scraped rocks and been patched up with tons of filler!
That cost of repair should mean a reasonable job in this case.

Good luck

When you say 'hit a rock' are we talking driven on in a storm, full tilt under motor or a gental clip? The reason I ask is that if this boat damaged her keel just by running aground you might want to ask is she strong enough for cruising? Clearly being able to deliberatly take the ground is a usefull asset when cruising but I would not want to be worried that an accidental stranding when exploring or a slow speed bump on rocks or coral was likely to do expensive amounts of damage.
