Duff fixings on my anode?

Question:

Can anyone recall if the MG Duff anodes come with mounting hardware?

I fitted a new (additional) anode to my prop shaft in March '25. Branded MG Duff, ordered from a well known chandler (as opposed to direct or from an online tat reseller). The mounting bolts are rusty after ~7 months afloat.

Note the old anode to the right of frame - been fitted for 2 years or more, the bolts are still silver.

I cannot recall if the bolts came with the anode or were from my "box of bits" onboard.

Every shaft anode I've bought came with its nuts and Allen screws.

Carbon steel.fittimgs are acceptable in anodes. When immersed the fittings are protected by the anode. Rusting occurs in the boatyard but the critical contact is the one between the anode and shaft, not influenced by the fittings.

I agree with Vyv. On my pear anode I take the anode off each year when I come ashore and grease the nuts and bolts, that way there is only light rust on them after many years. If you leave anode fitted and you come ashore each winter then by the time the anode needs to be chnaged the bolts are so rusted up that they are difficult to remove you ofeten have to get a spanner on the nut inside as well as the outside , very awkard usually.

If you didn't use the very coarse lock washers beneath the nuts you possibly didn't have electrical contact between the nuts and anode.
