Hello, can anyone give me some advice on sourcing ducting for a Planar 44D, please. Specifically a good supplier at sensible prices, the diameter of ducting - can I drop the diameter from the outlet size of 100mm to say 80mm? Thank you in advance.

Owen stocks all of the ducting and will be able to advise on dropping the ducting size, you do have to be careful or you can cause the heater to overheat and shut down.

Yes, this. I tried to use a Planar 44D with 2/3 of the outlet using old 75mm ducting and it overheated and shut down other than on the coldest of days. I couldn't use bigger ducting but swapped the unit for a 2D which has worked really well and enough for our 32 footer.

Fitting one just now with 90mm ducting so hoping that’s sufficient, it will be branching of with a 60mm take off pretty much after the heater so should help

Used 100mm ducting for approx 3 metres then used a reducer down to 80mm.
With care (smooth out the wrinkles and will fit) connected my boats existing 75mm ducting which has 3 outlets.
Has been working OK all through last winter to date.

That’s how I deal with the bigger heaters, run a few meters of large pipe to which you have a few side vents off. This normally takes enough back pressure away for everything to function well.

On my own boat, the first 2 meters is also uninsulated.

Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it. I think I will follow the route of 2-meters of 100mil and then reduce down for branches - this reduced size should really help with locating the ducting efficiently through lockers etc. thanks again. I will keep you posted.
