Hi There friends,

We have heard one or two very good reports about Dubrovnik as a place to over winter. The only down side seem to be that last year there were only 2 UK live aboard boats there which does not make for much party time/ community.

Anyone eles thinking about it? If there were a few people going there it may be good?

Any thought anyone looking for a place for this winter.

Do they have to be UK liveaboards ?

I have visited Dubrovnik and have friends who left their boat there for the winter - they did not stay on board.

In general terms, Croatia can be pretty cold in winter. More particularly, Dubrovnik Marina is on the south side of a deep valley so, in mid-winter, the sun only gets up over the mountains for a few hours each day leaving the marina in shade for much of the time.

I have heard tell of plenty of things to do in Dubrovnik city a short bus ride from the marina, but do keep in mind the lack of sunshine.

just winter in Corfu with everone else rains a bit but a good pump a solaerpanel and you can use the rain as a good excuse to visit dry plastic boats and play backgamon in rain proof cafes, God the thought of staying in Dubrovnik ---at the least --very boring--cold and almost as wet
