Dubious brokerage photographs

Brokerage photos are one thing..... this is the headline snap (most of the rest are worse!) for a 7.5 grand boat currently on Ebay:

Pity I can't see the photo all I get is a little blue square with a ? in it.

What I especially love are the dirty dishes in the sink, unkempt beds, dirty heads, cluttered chart tables.... etc etc.

some folks just can’t be arsed I guess.

I think some brokers do a really good job with their photography, notably John Rodriguez (JR Yachts)

Here is one we did on Friday. Stills and video. http://www.jryachts.com/yachts-for-sale/islandpacket-45/1871663

It was bright for a while but the day quickly became quite dark and stormy, so the interior still shots and video were challenging (as I don't like to use flash or video lights).

For the stills, some of the exposures would normally not have been possible at the ISO we were using but our stills camera has over 5 stops of image stabilisation. So even in very low light, I was able to get good hand held results.

Video was also shot with poor available light but I have a very fast Sigma lens that produces bright images in low light.

We use a different camera to the stills for the video and a combination of video tripod, gimbal and slider to keep it smooth.

A moving, swaying yacht interior, with tight spaces and poor lighting, has to be one of the hardest things to shoot.

Total time spent, including editing, was just over 8 hours plus two hours travel time!
