Their vip badges were very subtle .... not!

Plenty of silly stuff:

Some local builders were at the show:

Mangusta's stand was a bit flash:

Fairline and Princess were both there, although oddly Princess were showing the long out of production P45:

The new trend in hull colours:

Where else would you expect to need a 60ft rib?

Riva had four or five boats on display:

This Cranchi had a fitted parasol:

(Very) big Kahuna, with four o/b's on the back:

This ski boat had an array of rear-firing speakers:

This was odd:

This was odder:

It wasn't all boats. This was actually on a floating pontoon:

Thanks Jimmy. Nice pics. Fairline were also showing a deceased model, the Sq58 (the one in the pic is the used one the dealer is trying to sell there).

Seems if you have an outboard boat you're nobody unless you have 4x 300hp :-)

So, did the VIP lady mind you taking a picture of her fanny and sticking it on the 'net? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

my guess is that she is Mrs/Miss JTB? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Its all a bit bonkers there and the boats (and cars and planes and houses..) are no exception. I am afraid I find it a bit like vegas, three days and out!

How was the traffic? have they finished the road outside the venue yet?

Worth a look every now and then though just to see the crazy stuff

Think Dubai is about the most boring place I've ever been. Best bit was talking to the Iranian blokes on the dows and having a crafty fag with them in Ramadan. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Excellent post and pics Jimmy, cheers.

When are you flying out of Dubai? I'll be in the Emirates Business lounge at the airport on Saturday evening for a few hours, before flying onto Singapore.

Cheers

Al.

Traffic pretty bad, as widely predicted. There's still quite a bit of construction going on although anecdotally it has apparently slowed right down. Don't know about the road to the boat show though, we're staying in the hotel that is next door but one, and they took us there through the grounds of the hotels in a golf buggy.

Cheers

Great pics, jimmy. I see the show was heaving with visitors or was this out of hours? Yup, construction has fallen off a cliff in Dubai, particularly speculative residential and commercial development

Nope, we were there on the second day of the show, between about 4pm to 6pm (show hours are 3pm to 9.30pm).

Cheers
