Just seen the Ilfracombe webcam and saw a reasonable large yacht on the wall there. I have never been into Ilfracombe so curious if a 2m draft vessel can dry easily against their wall? Is it allowed, is the bottom ok etc?

Clearly by the time I have sailed from Bristol down there is it going to be low tide but would be a good thing to know.

I've done it in a friend's Oyster 395 which must have had something like 2m draft. We were on the wall to port as you come in and it was still quite a climb up. There was a line of boats along that wall when we were there (Round Lundy race). As I recall the bottom was firm clean sand.

the yacht against the wall has a 2mtr draft and is quite happy without legs, she is owned by a local. she has just over gone a refit at Watchet after an Atlantic crossing and will be heading to the Med in the next few Months
