Can anyone please recommend good spots for drying out my csy (5ft 6" draft) in the Hamble or Solent area??, if water is available so much the better. Many thanks

Land's End at Bursledon. Handy for the Jolly Sailor whilst waiting for the tide. Shame the pub is a travesty of its former self.

Piles by the public slipway in Hamble village, right by the Royal Southern YC. Have lunch at 'im and 'er.

Piles by the Harbour Master's office in Warsash. Have a drink in the Rising Sun.

michael_w has it about right. used to be a set of piles at Mercury Creek but cynical misuse of the Health and Safety excuse caused these to be removed. Shameful.

None of the piles have a water tap, doubly shameful.

Emswoth Yacht Harbour, Ch Hbr have got a drying grid, power and water alongside- rates on the website, full civilisation 10 mins brisk walk away- 7 pubs, 2 x curry, 1x Chinese, Boaters Bar over to Thornham Marina, Coop, Heidi's bakers/ cake shop, chandlers on site- hell, why do we ever go out? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
