Drying out on the Clyde

I'd like to dry Jumblie out over a tide to have a look at her bottom, fiddle with the log and a few other things. Can anyone suggest a good place to do this on the Clyde? Her mooring is at Port Bannatyne but I don't mind a trip to get there. Options might be proper scrubbing grid, pier or just a firmish beach, since she has legs. She draws 4'.

The harbour at Millport, the inner bit is perfect. Hard sand bottom, strong stone wall. Local boats dry out there for this purpose. I investigated myself in May for my own boat. Also against the outer side of the harbour wall is good but back beyond the net drying area.

There used to be a drying grid up at the Royal and Northern Yacht Club, inside the bay, Gairloch side of the spit.

Kames pier is used as well but down the side, never tried it and dont know anyone who has but a colleague said that it could be used. I have dried out against the dolphin in East Loch Tarbet, South Side. In East Loch Tarbert at the Pier I have seen yachts dried out on the slip for the repair shed but I guess you would have to pay (if its still open).

I have some photos of the Millport area at low tide that I took when I checked and will edit this post later.

You can dry out in the corner of Rothesay outer harbour.

Would concur about against the wall in Rothesay outer harbour. Very near to Port Bannatyne and sheltered.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I spoke to the harbour master at Rothesay on Thursday, and he was adamant that there was nowhere I could dry out in the harbour. Maybe a few years ago, he said, but it's all dredged now.

So it looks like a jolly to Millport ... but I may investigate the stone pier at Port Bannatyne first. What a shame that some twit has abandoned a fishing boat to rot there.

I dried out in Rothesay a few years ago,but problem is access in corner---no steps.
