Drying between tides - with electricity- Solent

Any suggestions for good places where it is possible to dry between tides (bilge keel) and where there is electricity available? Chichester Hbr or failing that anywhere Solent. I know the drying grid in Emsworth YH, but not a particularly pleasant place to work. One other thought is Newport. Is power available on the hard at Itchenor?

Not sure if it fit's your requirements, but what about Dell Quay? There is a small yard there that might be willing to supply you some juice?
 
As far as I recollect, Bosham Quay has power available, as do the scrubbing piles at the Folly on the Medina (although I believe these need to be booked in advance). There used to be a slip you could use for scrubbing at Gosport Marina; I don't know if it's still there following the redevelopment of the site, but it may be worth asking.
 
RAF yacht club scrubing dock - power and pressure washer, they accept non members and will probably charge @ £20. give them a ring
 
Have you thought about the IOW Boatlift.

It's £94 inc the VAT, but they do a good job, I used it for the first time 2 weeks ago, float in, lift, wash, a scrub of the crusty bits, lower and float away. Quick too.

You can do some work on your boat as well and the guy is really helpful,

Vic, what wrong with Emsworth YH? We always used to use it, great place, boat on the grid and you can get the car right up to where your working, power and water for the pressure washer, no less! Only downside, I think its a bit pricey, well when compared to Itchenor, that's where we dry out now (EYH is not suitable for deeper draught), yes Itchenor, you wont need the piles, just up on the beach there, good place to work. There is water and power and an incentive to get finished early!

The Ship is just up the road for a pint when the work is done!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
Hi you could give the lads at Upper Quay Marina (Formerly Hampers) Fareham a call. For a £1 a foot I think you could use the scubbing block. Has water and electrcity,parking.Call John on 07973 690557 I know some of the lads at Fareham sailing club have used it.

1 remind us about your keel shape and draft;
2 specify antifoul or skin fittings or rudder or what;
3 state preferred bottom: mud, slip or grid;
4 advise timescale and availability.

Nosey Parker! He said bilge keel Sadler 29 what more do you want.

Vic: Wicormarine have a very good concrete pad scrubbing berth with power and water but be aware they now charge £50 per tide!

and just WHY should everyone RING you ... the whole point of these fora is to openly SHARE information.

Vic - Sorry - don't know of anywhere for you - we used EYH this year - but our deep keel made it easier to get round all sides without getting too muddy.....
 
If anyone's still listening, thanks for the further suggestions. I probably should have mentioned that I'd consider £10 top wack /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Itchenor will certainly be best bet ... I will check out the electric situation.
