Can anyone advise whether it is safe to dry stand against a wall with a Delta 25 lift keel version with the keel down?
The keel will be bolted down on the 4 studs on the top of the keel. Just worried that the whole weight of the boat is on those 4 studs. thanks

We had a Delta 25 Lifting keel for many years and although we never stood ours against a wall with the keel bolted down we did stand it on the trailer with the keel bolted down while I adjusted the various trialer supports pretty much every winter. I also recall reading that the keel was designed to be stood on in an article by Andy Cunningham ( or was that Pete Poland) in a copy of PBO from around 2003 /4. Having engaged the bottom of the sea robustly so to speak on several occasions I am personally sure that they are fine to stand on the keel. However you will need to consider carfully how to ensure that the boat does not lean forwards or backwards if the ground is not 100%, probably sorted out by ensuring your well tied to the wall and being there while the water disappears.

Hi had a delta for many years.I remember talking to Hunter about drying out with keel down.Their reply was it should be ok if leaning over a bit. Never tried it. It sounds as if your model has the studs just through upper casing,if this is the story forget it,not worth the risk. The keel bolts on mine came down on the inside of the casing exiting through the side of the box and continued on down and into the hull were they were made fast.I beefed mine up in case I needed to dry out,but never did. Nice boat had many happy days with it.
