I think there could be one outstanding scenario, the OP is in the industry (and for many years) so does he have a customer base lined up? Does he know how much they will pay? In which case all he needs is a boat!

No I said I was after a 10 year old boat NOT a 4 year old boat..... even I’m not that dumb to think someone is going to do that....
Without giving all the details away - should be less than 1000 sea miles in total for the season, lots and lots of time at anchor or on a private buoy - more or less most of the time in displacement and not planing. Tender will be worked hard though and used everyday..

Here's another thing, where will you be taking the people who charter you? What do they get out of it?? 1000nm over 6 months equates to 0.168 nm per day, hardly a fun day out!!
If you have years of experience as a charter Captain in the solent you will know how much things cost. At best you are a dreamer and good luck, but I feel on this occasion you are just trolling the forum.
For that reason alone, I'm out lol.
Maths not your forte MrB?
Great thanks for the encouraging words - it’s a forum not a bank interview
Obviously, missed a bit out. lol

Maybe he misread the OP and thought he was chartering a boat on Saturn instead of the Solent, where a year lasts ~11000 days
Noop, just got a number the wrong way round.
6x28=168 (28 days per M)
168÷1000= 0.168nm should have been 1000÷168= 5.952nm
Nothing interplanetary, just a red wine error in haste and for that i apologise to the op.![]()

My thought is that its a massive business risk. If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to lease a 22-24m boat for 6 months and then offer skippered charter/accommodation with it? You know that the average charter rate for a boat this size with crew is £25-30k a week. Say you persuade somebody to lease you a boat for 6 months at £10-15k a week. Thats a fixed cost of £260-390k you will commit to before you make a penny. Can you afford that because the worst case scenario in this is that you commit to leasing the boat for 6 months and the venture doesnt work at all leaving you £260-390k out of pocket?Open to suggestions or thoughts please
