I've previously tried to get technical details on the operation of the furuno DRS4W as folks have often asked me questions (on the kplex forum and elsewhere) about it. Unfortunately I've been unsuccessful either asking Furuno directly or asking via a dealer so wondering if anyone owns one and has investigated.
* I presume connections to it are TCP given the issues with multicast over wireless but can anyone confirm?
* Does it produce nmea sentences for status and target tracking (ie RSD/TLL/TLB/TTM) in addition to image data?
* What ports does it use?
* Do the client apps for it connect via a well known IP address (172.31.3.17??) or some kind of service discovery (e.g. bonjour)?
Unfortunately I can't see from the manual where it's possible to change the password for one of these things so if there's anyone in Brighton who owns one and would consent to some investigation in return for a socially distanced beer, they'd have to trust me to purge all knowledge of their password once we're done.
