I quote from the E.A.'s latest edict:
"Because reservoirs are depleted,* water companies may apply for permits that will enable them to take more water from the Thames to continue providing drinking water to households and businesses.* And as you will have heard, all the water companies in the Thames catchment are introducing hosepipe band on April 5."

I'm sure that the appearance of this hosepipe band at any lock at any time will discourage boaters from using the river thus causing fewer problems.
I wonder what kind of songs will be in the repertoire?

Yea I got that from EA and all.

Local water authority wanted to build a large underground storage system down here near Canterbury about 30 years ago,but the locals got together and ...........you can guess the rest !
We need to store what rain we do get when we get it.

Take a look at this weeks Richmond and twickenham times. There is a picture to suggest that the draw off could be a full time reality is there is a water shortage.

I don't have the time or energy to write to them and explain the movements of the moons pull ...

Made me laugh though.

That is very funny :D

I have lost count of the number of times I have told motorists that the tide will get their cars at River Lane Petersham.

At Springs the Sea Scouts kayak over Glover's Island and then back to shore kayaking through the woods back up to the hq.
