Nigel, just one thing a saw on the footage. I never take off from the sand as the sand can get in the motors. So usually I put it on the carrying backpack, the one from Dji. Also, after each flight I put it back in the backpack. So basically it goes from the backpack to the air and to the air to the backpack.

That's a good point which I shall pass on. They're, (the marketing team), are trying to get a P4 out of me now as a replacement. I hope that DJI give us a little goodwill

What about batteries? Do you need a couple and how do you charge them on a boat. I only have 12V on the boat and I see the P4/P3 both need higher voltage to charge. Perhaps I would need an inverter.

Pmagowan, earlier in the thread I've mentioned that Dji has released a 12v cig charger. Just check on their website.

Thanks for all the advice and the inspirational film. Hopefully my phantom will be arriving shortly along with cig charger and spare battery.
