We were anchored out recently and we were beam on at times very uncomfortable , so for first time I chucked drogue out which worked well . We then went to sleep and awoke in the morning to find obviously the boat had turned and the drogue was under the boat , luckily I managed to get it back . So how do you deal with this .

There may be another way.

Tie a rope to your anchor chain then tie it off to your mid cleat. As you let out more chain it brings the side of the boat round.

something to play around with……

Henry :)

Simple, lift the outdrives, oh you're on shafts, too bad :p Swim!

Roy et al most commonly use them in tight anchorage so we align with the yotties. It can be useful in a current but is always a problem at slack and poor old Roy has missed the most obvious solution as always......... dont let it out on 500 yards of line. It can be deployed with just enough line the drogue cannot sink more than a foot below the water from the stern cleat and it still works fine. Please dont get him started on playing with his anchor chain, none of the mob have the necessary medical skills to reattach fingers as I found out at a recent hog spit roast when 3 bottles of the finest Malbec lent wind to the meat cleaver and nearly spoilt the roast.

No seriously, he cant reach his chain, he's tried before and got his fingers trapped while his good wife was on the controls. I'd have paid good money to see it. Better yet, I bet I could have filled a stadium at 10 quid a ticket for a repeat performance
