Any tips on the drive through scrubber at Haslar etc. Two J's is getting a distinctly hairy bottom and a lift out, wash and relaunch at this time of year is not cost effective. Before trying the in water option I would like any advice on the potential risks of using these machines. Steve.

Cheers Jimi. Think I'll give it a try then. She's been getting a bit slimy around the old botty for a while now, but I was stunned by the growth I saw at the weekend. The fish have been doing a good job through the autumn but seem to have given up on boat cleaning now. Have a good trip this weekend, wherever you get to. Steve.

this is the latest "must have" accessory for any boat and is akin to the "brown underpants" scenario feared by all caught in a situation of panic/emergency. you would not want your boat's botty when in extremis to be exposed without your own personal "signature" being visible?

My boat's bottie is painted with that soft eroding stuff. Presumably the machine's too harsh for this, unless I want to strip her back to gelcoat?

I had Blake's Tiger on, which is softish, did'nt seem too much of a problem, when I got it done last year the brush seemed a bit harsher, think its been refined a bit in the last 12 months

I used it at start of October. Seemed to get the boat completely clean without removing hunks of antifoul so I'm a happy customer.

They will try to sell you the 3 scrub membership deal when you call them up. If you just want to try it out, you might be best to just pay for a single scrub, although I'm happy enough that I prepaid for three.

Used it a few times and very impressed. It wont touch barnacles but very good on slime etc. Brushes are soft so only takes a minimal amount of antifoul off. I was very impressed and when I left the pontoon I had gained 1.5 knots!!
