how often are these things supposed to be changed/replaced
mine are 5 years old, no drips or anything, the spare seal is still in place on the shaft
do I leave well alone or is there some time/use limit?
cheers

I'm in much the same position, PSS seals. Anyone know how long their life is?

I have had mine changed as the shafts were coming out anyway to do cutlass bearings. Mine are Tides Marine (I think) and they recommend 1000 hours

I have Tides Marine and they are excellent.

I have the second seal and carrier also fitted on the shaft so If I have to I can change it in the water.

Dismantle, inspect and change the seal after 5 to 7 years I believe.
