I've have honestly just got back from Basra and can vouch for the quality of the drinks machine. Ask Solitaire.
Its a mess out there!!

Basra is quite a ligitimate place to report from as it is besides a river, though the boats were mainly dug out canoes when I was there. I set up camp besides the river. Even got a brass olive hand made there. Cant remember any restaurants there though. Mind you, I must have eaten sumate!!

The British club in Baghdad was quite nice, even if a bit oldyworldy. Might not be there now though!!!
