So who has their boat “dressed overall” today? And who is sitting at home glued to the TV and/or preparing for a street party?

And who is thinking, great a long weekend let’s go sailing?

PS. And is anybody else like me struggling to stop the scenes from the Johnny English coronation from being at front of mind.

Since there is have new gooseneck sitting on the table beside me the boat can't go sail anywhere.
I've also pulled a muscle in my back yesterday, I can't go anywhere either.
So although I have the TV on I'm sat here researching information on mobile Ground Control Interception radar Type 15, for a model I'm making for the radar museum. Home | RAF Air Defence Radar Museum

Rain forecast all day across southern England. My sailing club is having a celebration dinner this evening and we put the boat on the pontoon on Thursday to be sure of a place. Had to come home on Friday as Madame was singing in a concert last night, We were going to go back after the concert, but sitting on a boat in the rain is an overrated experience, so I don't think we'll be going back until aperitif o'clock this evening.

They seem to be dealing very swiftly with anyone disrespectful enough to go out sailing on such a solemn occasion. From the sounds of it there's a bit over 20 of those pesky republicans who wished they'd stayed sat in the marina like me.

oh wait maybe there's another explanation for the kerfuffle:

Shame about the rain - hate to spoil fixed stereotypes but ………. Lovely and sunny in NW Scotland.
No bunting up on boats or harbour though.

Old ship of mine. I spent Christmas on her in Cape Town a few years ago. Then had to help host a load of foreign signatories on her for the Spithead Fleet Review. Charles & Camilla on board. A few tales to tell about that if ever we meet again over a beer or three.

We’re officially in French waters in Martinique atm and I suggested we dressed overall. Mrs M talked me out of it…

I am not sure if I need to report this stirring post, what do the others think?

If, as it seems, you get a kick out of reporting people for the most trivial of reasons, then you must go ahead and do whatever makes you happy.

What we, the others, think is unlikely to influence you, so why bother asking us?
