Thanks for the recommendation - I bought one and it does feel like excellent quality especially for the price.

Just been flicking through the manual, and amused to find the odd reference to Makita which they obviously forgot to delete when copy/pasting the text

Yes, guy at Makita spares laughed when I mentioned the "Makita Warranty", there isn't one. Makita collet & nut fit OK if you need the 8mm one, I use my other routers for 1/2".

I bought a mains powered Dremel on special offer in Homebase for £19.99 a couple of months back. Now I've got it I don't know how I managed without one!

Hopefully other bits like motor brushes might fit too?

I too would be using my big router for 1/2", this is for fiddly stuff that the big one would be a bit clumsy for.
