Dreadful photos of boats for sale (please contribute examples)

I wouldn't pay a qualified delivery crew to valet my boat for me - I could do that myself.
 
Yeah, that's awful. Is there really nobody who can visit to photograph the boat and send better pictures to the seller?

Very hard to believe that the only option for a photo, wasn't taken of the boat, but of some location where it happened to be, so the photo has been cropped and enlarged to show only the boat.

These were some of the pictures of my Lightwave before I first went to see her - she had been abandoned at the back of a farmyard having been pulled out of the water straight after the 2003 Fastnet race. Dirty pots, pans and dishes left exactly as was, cheese in the fridge as you wouldn't believe....
It didn't bother me at all as I was able to buy her at a knockdown price with enough budget left to get her trucked home to Hamble where with the help of Yachting sports I completely gutted and refitted her. She's still a great boat now, cruising orientated and 32 years old

Those pics might well have put off many, who weren't prepared to put time, effort and money into returning her to former glory.

But the photos themselves aren't at fault.

If the seller had taken equally competent photos of carefully-tidied and cleaned corners which gave the impression that the whole boat was in a satisfactory condition, that might be a different realm of 'terrible' from what I was thinking of.
 
U would of all run away from my current kingfisher 30 then..I bought it as it had sat abandonded for years and had been repossesed by harbour master..it had 2010 food and drinks in it as well as 2 foot of water inside it,not forgetting the sludge on the outside of the hull about 6 inch thick in places...but now after a few weeks work it looks pretty respectible..

I was very happy, I bought her through Network Yacht Brokers in Conwy who pulled no punches on the description, I was far less impressed with the local surveyor who clearly didn't want to be there on a cold December morning...
 
:sneaky: That's too comically bad to be real.

Quite a few photos of boats for sale, omit the hull/coachroof. I view each case individually, to decide whether the photographer was clueless, legless, or focussing with careful intent upon the condition of the mast, sails and standing rigging.

EDIT: Wow, that seems to be a genuine attempt to sell the boat. So it goes in the 'Clueless' category, I think.
