Drawing for Macwester 28 Rudder Assy

Does anyone have a drawing for a Macwester/Atlanta 28 rudder assembly. It is the type where the tiller is mounted on a pedestal in the cockpit. I need to k Oe if the alloy top fitting it’s screwed to the rudder tube or if it is permanently fitted to it by welding or other method.

Thanks for this, interesting to see what I am working with from the bottom but what I am trying to ascertain is with the photo below now the screws are removed is this supposed to lift, or is it either welded to the rudder tube or screwed onto it. I don't want to use my grollying spanner if its welded as I will damage it but if its screwed then I will give it a go as its well and truly stuck despite copious and liberal dosing with release fluid.

I am considering a hardwood block on the shaft and a 12lb sledgehammer to see if that will loosen it but if the fitting in the photo cpmes off then I am better placed with my release fluid.

I wonder whether Stuart Roy, a yacht surveyor who is the son of the Macwester designer/boss CSJ Roy, might know? (Note, though, that if he can help he might want paying, as that's how he makes his living.)

This looks just like the rudder top on a Macwester 26. In that case the fitting with the 4 holes is screwed to the top of the rudder tube which is threaded at the top.

That's good to know. it is solid but my 3 foot pipe spanner should get it moving. I hope!!

I misunderstood your query; I have never separated this fitting from the tube, but I understand that it is screwed into the tube as someone else in this post has suggested. Please let us know and post some pictures if you can.
