Draught Excluder Strip Stuff?

My forehatch, cockpit engine cover and cockpit locker have a strip of foam one-side-sticky stuff used as a gasket to stop wind/water ingress when taking on some heavy weather (I think).

Unfortunately, most of it is in poor condition and I'm starting to replace it.

But, I bought some and applied it - and the sticky side just isn't going to be strong enough - it's already peeling back off after one weekend in place.

Is there some marine specific strip - with good waterproofness - and a sticky side that sticks and remains stuck?

I've searched google to little avail - I think I'm maybe just calling it by the wrong name?

Hatch seal tape is available from most swindleries.
Also, Vinyl flooring adhesive is useful for sticking this sort of stuff down as it's not a contact adhesive, more gooey but sticks well if left pressed down until set.

[/ QUOTE ] It always seems difficult to get self adhesive things to stick on the backside of old fibre glass mouldings. I would clean the surface thoroughly with some acetone, even sand it down a bit perhaps.
I think I would also feel inclined to opt for non self adhesive strip and use the contact adhesive recommended by Seals+Direct.

I have no doubt that's the place to get the seal material.

I used STORMGUARD for my fore hatch, available at Focus DIY, found it much better than the stuff sold as hatch seal in chandlers.

I have just sorted this problem out on my boat, seals direct was the answer for me, plain neoprene strip and 2 part waterproof contact glue.
