Returned to boat after 2 wk absence to find it had become an outhouse for seagulls. Scrubbed away all afternoon yesterday but am finding it nearly impossible to get some of the c**p off - it has set like epoxy. Any tips gratefully accepted. Also - what is best way of laundering a sprayhood?

Apparently a large rubber snake works wonders. Though there are a few nay-sayers who claim that eels are a favourite food of seagulls so you should paint the words " I am not an eel" upon the back of said rubber snake.....

We use the kiddies whirly windmills .... works on the big boat and tender when we leave that on the mooring....

I got some good suggestions for sprayhood cleaning when I asked a similar question recently.
Search the forum for " Seagull Poo" to read the thread.

Tear up some plastic bags and tie them to a bungie chord that runs the length of you boat , youll need to rig up something to hold the chord so the ripped bags rustle . I use a broomstick in my flag pole holder up to my mast (Mobo mast) and down to my pullpit rail .It takes seconds to put up and get down and actually works /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
