Draining a BETA\'s coolant

The engine coolant drain plug on the block of my 2 cyl BETA goes into a short right angled fitting (to clear the engine mounting) which makes it almost impossible to clear when blocked (which it is at the end of each season). Can't clear it at all this year - tried bent bits of wire etc - anyone out there got any solution to this?

Not a guaranteed solution, but an idea I used successfully in a rather similar situation: a dinghy pump and a heavy foot.

The bleed nipple should unscrew from the elbow and then you can set about cleaning it out properly. When refitting put a small blob of grease in it to prevent it corroding and blocking again
