hi all, so , serviced kad 32s tick, checked dpe drives ok, oil ok level ok, did not add oil, have not touched drives for weeks now, no movement nothing, went to boat today and spotted gear oil half way up the leg near removable housing, a good couple of tablespoons worth, why? where has this leaked from? def gear oil, can smell it! help! thanks in advance....

Remove the cover and check to see if the seal behind the shift quadrant is weeping, or it could be from the paper gasket behind the plug with a hex socket above and to the right of the shift needs replacing

If its the plug leaking then just screw out swap gasket and refit, you won't lose that much. But if its the seal on the shift then you will need to drop the oil level until its below, or just change the oil if its due a change. The oil seal isn't difficult to change but you need to know the procedure.
