Hi - Has anyone noticed or come across different size anode rings for Dp-G drive as in the thickness from the propeller to its base on the drive?
I am asking this as I have a nagging doubt that the gap between the propeller and the ring seems a tad excessive (I did follow the volvo manual for correct install)
my next part what I noticed was the Nyloc Nut - Now Volvo serviced my drive last March and I took the props off late Early February this year what I noticed was it seemed that the nut had been well tightened - when I came to put the props back on I got a new Nyloc nut from keyparts and so I came to tighten it up I set my Torque wrench to 70nm as per Instruction but I then noticed that the shaft was level with the nylon end and no threads showing.
As I dont want a repeat of the other year I am thinking I will strip back down and rebuild the props back up just to stop any nagging doubts.
So does anyone have a DP-G manual or know if there is a specific dimension/size from the edge of the forward prop to the anode base as this may give me an indication if all is well.
I do apologise for babbling on - its that I am away with work and wont get to the boat for another 2 1/2 weeks and its is driving me mad
p/s The anode ring that I just put on was a MG Duff - obviously the previous one was a Volvo anode could there be differences in sizes and the same for the nylock nut could the one from keyparts be different in height size over volvo ?
(please note the photograph was taken last year showing the volvo anode)
