OK so I don't have the right word, but you know the circular stainless steel part that hold the out-drive / steering helmet together?

On the DP290 drives, to remove this you un-did the 2 allen bolts and used the 2 bolts from the outdrive upper casing to push it out.

Is it same for the DP-G? Just the bolts from the DP-g upper casing are a lot shorter!

Many thanks.

I keep a coup, elf 1/4 unc bolts in my toolbox for this

What a day!

Built a trolley for the out-drive - all OK

Removing the bearing taps were a nightmare (that's what Keypart calls them). I took VP's advise and used 2 x 1/4 UNC. This worked for only 1 hole on each bearing tap (I have 2 outdrives) - how odd! I put it down to possibly bad maintenance in the past. Anyway, tapped in a new thread and put an M8 in. One was VERY hard to get out, the other popped out straight away! 2 added to the shopping cart!

My reason for posting... Should I order 2 x bushings too? As seen here: http://www.keypart.com/stock/853048

Should they be totally smooth? They are smooth (ie. not gritty), but there is a slight 'ridge' going around the inner edge of the bushing (on each of them) when I rub my finger in there. Not sure if this is normal??
