Went to the boat today to see how the props were after I hit something at the weekend.

Raised both and all looked OK. Lowered the port leg just fine but the right leg just clicks....I've checked the 50aml fuse and that is fine.

All it can be is either the leg is stuck fast or the relays on the pump have gone....problem is that there is not way I can get to the relays on the stbd leg...not a chance!

Any ideas please folks?

The connection plugs and relays on mine would benefit from being disconnected cleaned and reassembled, especially after the winter break, why cant you get to yours?.......poor access?

Get someone in who can reach the relays.

Short arms and big belly make it impossible for me.

There are two relays..do I change both? £50 each from VP....why so expensive?

Swap relays from working leg to confirm that they are faulty before buying new.

There is nothing special about the relays . Sorry I dont have a cross reference but its a fair bet the relays can be purchased for a lot less money

All sorted thanks folks. I tried all suggested but end the end replaced the relays and it worked first time.

Mind you I did have to bend parts of my body that I've never bent before and do the whole job with two fingers only.

I will get the old relays tested and keep the one that still works..assuming that there is one.

Thanks again for the help folks.

Late to this.

Glad you got sorted. As mentioned above, it does no harm to take the relays out and give the terminals a clean. Spray contact cleaner into the female connectors and push the relays in/out a little.

Had to do this on a friends (new to him) boat today. There was a lot of corrosion on the connectors but doing the above sorted the issue right out.
